DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENTS (DME) TRAINING WORKSHOPS

Medical technology has substantially improved health care in all medical specialties and has reduced morbidity and mortality for critically ill patients. Nevertheless, the increased complexity of medical devices and their utilization in more procedures now result in about 10,000 device-related patient injuries in the United States each year. Most of these injuries are attributable to improper use of a medical device as a result of inadequate personnel training and lack of experience. Home Medical equipment and procedures usually expose the beneficiary to hazards that could injure either the patient or the medical technical staff. According to Florida law 59A-25 the Home Medical Equipment Provider (DMEPOS) shall provide management and patient instruction regarding the use of home medical equipment requiring services and any professional services as necessary. Delivery services include transportation of equipment and supplies to and from consumer homes, equipment setup, beneficiary training and record keeping.

Designed to keep technicians working in health care industry up-to-date on medical advances, and in complaince with licensing renewal and Florida State regulations. These short courses do not lead to gainful employment or jobs of any kind.
